Our 8-year-old friend, Max, was back at the brewery this week, helping us brew our new batch of Max's Big Beer!
Max has Duchenne muscular dystrophy. His amazing parents, Andrew and Kerri, have raised over $170,000 over the past four years to help find a cure, by running amazing local fundraisers that you have likely heard of — Max's Big Climb - The Race Against Time, Max's Big Ride to End Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and the Ice Cream Ride.
We’re honoured to team up with Max and his family for the second year in a row to create a beer that will help raise money and awareness for Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
Although Max can’t drink the beer, he certainly influenced everything about it, from the flavour combinations to the style of beer and the name. Max loves peaches and vanilla ice cream, so we thought a Milkshake IPA with Peach and Vanilla would be just right for Max's Big Beer. This year we also added a special ingredient — check out the photos to find out what that is!
50 cents from every can sold will go to Jesse’s Journey, a Canadian charity dedicated solely to funding research related to Duchenne.
Mark your calendars because we’re throwing a big party this year to launch Max's Big Beer on June 2nd, with Dover Boys •Food Truck•, games and fun for the whole family!
