We’re excited to present a new education series once a month before Babies+Brews, where we invite expert guest speakers to the brewery to chat about everything from Pelvic Floor health to toilet-training!

Our first guest is Kristen Parise, a Registered Physiotherapist with over 18 years of experience and additional training in Pelvic Health and Pediatric Physiotherapy. Her passion is the rehabilitation of the pelvic floor and she provides treatment for men, women and children with incontinence, chronic constipation, pelvic pain and women pre and postnatally.

Here’s more info about her workshop:

5 Facts About the Pelvic Floor that will Change Your Life

Regardless of how much we’ve have trained, how many babies we’ve had, or how old we are, many women experience incontinence, back and hip pain, and feelings of heaviness in their pelvis. The great news is there is overwhelming evidence that the first line of treatment for all these conditions is pelvic floor retraining. In some cases the pelvic floor requires strengthening exercises however, pelvic floor lengthening may also be indicated if there is overactivity.

Join Kristen Parise Pelvic Health Physiotherapist for an informal and interactive session to learn more about pelvic floor health. Learn what causes pelvic floor dysfunction and more importantly how to cure incontinence, reduce back and hip pain and increase your knowledge of the functions of the pelvic floor.

Kristen Parise has been a physiotherapist for over 18 years working in many settings including hospitals, children’s treatment centres, outpatient clinics and in home care. She currently has her own physiotherapy practice, Blueberry Therapy, in Dundas. She has a Masters degree in Exercise Physiology and a Bachelor of Health Science in Physiotherapy from McMaster University. Kristen has received additional training to allow her to work as a Pelvic Health Physiotherapist and is passionate about providing exceptional, evidenced based care.
