We’re delighted to hear from local emerging writers while our old and new friends sip beer and kombucha. Readings begin at 7 pm. Free and open to the public. Accessible and dog and child friendly.
Emma McKenna
Emma holds a PhD in English & Cultural Studies, and is the author of Chenille or Silk: Poems (Caitlin Press, 2019). She hosts the Grain and Grit Poetry Night and will be reading new work from her forthcoming collection.
Emily Scherzinger
Emily is a fourth year PhD candidate at McMaster, who also writes poetry and makes zines. You can usually find her playing with her blind dog, Atlas, or reading.
Chris Alaimo
Chris was born and raised in Hamilton, ON. He holds a Master's in Philosophy. When not tortuously scribbling poetry, you can find him at the gym or, more likely, sleep procrastinating with courtesy of Netflix.
Shamika Shabnam
Shamika is a PhD candidate in English and Cultural Studies at McMaster University. Her poetry is an extension of her prosaic doctoral dissertation. Through poetry, Shamika tries to do near justice to her research work which is based on trauma and violence.
